UPDATED FROM OCT. 14: SCHORR HAS WON ENDORSEMENTS FROM WHITE PLAINS, RYE, SLEEPY HOLOW PBAs.

GOP candidate Dan Schorr has scored another endorsement in his bid for District Attorney, this time from the Westchester County Police Retired Officers. He recently held a press conference lauding the endorsement of the Westchester County Police Benevolent Association and was endorsed earlier by the PBA of Westchester.

In a press release from Schorr’s campaign, the retired officers group cited issues such as lenient plea bargains to violent criminals as its reasons for supporting Schorr.

“Dan Schorr knows what it means to be a prosecutor. He has the experience and understanding to prosecute tough cases and keep Westchester residents safe. He will put an end to the easy plea bargains and restore trust between the DA’s office and law enforcement,” retired officers president Steve Hoey said.

Meanwhile, Democratic incumbent DA Janet DiFiore has racked up many endorsements from law enforcement types, including PBAs in Mamaroneck, Ossining, Yorktown, Greenburgh, Westchester County Chiefs of Police, Affiliated Police Association of Westchester, two state police groups, state court officers, and two New York City police unions, among others.

The retired officers group also endorsed GOP challenger Rob Astorino for Westchester County Executive.

  1. BLUE

Dan is the most naive candidate out there. He harps on “easy” plea bargains while he knows those things simply do not happen on DiFiore’s watch. He makes broad-brush remarks that do not stand up to scrutiny and he is joined by others who have no idea how to run a large prosecutors office in an efficient manner. Danny boy, you need to row that boat aSchorr.

  2. PURPLE

How many more times do we have to read about the rants of a second-rate lawyer with no administrative experience?

Danny boy, you need to row your boat aSchorr….........

  3. No color necessary

Blue and Purple are clearly the same person. And your posts are not all that clever.

  4. Color Blind

So far it’s DiFiore 25 Law Enforcement endorsements,
    Dan Schorr, 5 endorsements.

Seems that the rant of Dan Schorr is a bit hollow.

So much for the Sleepy Holow’s of the world…...

Endorsements are worthless unless the candidate is worthy of them. Look what just happened in Putnam County sheriff race where one challenger had 127 endorsements to the point where he couldn’t even count them all. But he was a worthless candidate who didn’t even belong on stage.

  6. Ahoy Mate!

When you take away the police associations outside of Westchester, like the NYC and Rockland ones, you see that she only has about 11 local endorsements. Pretty lame for a sitting DA in a county that has at least 43 different law enforcement agencies.

Whether it’s 25 or 11, her endorsement number is not nearly what it was when she ran in 2005. Just four years ago, she had the endorsements of about 60 law enforcement associations. What happened to all that support?

Will somebody please tell me why, if she is such a good DA, that so many cops have jumped ship?
